FAMILY ASSISTANT FOR PRIVATE RESIDENCE IN DARLING POINT, NSW, AUSTRALIA

We have a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated and proactive Family Assistant / Housekeeper to support a busy yet well-organised household. With both parents working from home, three independent school-aged children and two beloved pets, we’re seeking someone who can work autonomously, take initiative, and ensure the home runs smoothly. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident in managing housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, and household administration with minimal supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming home environment.
  • Assist with daily household tasks including laundry, ironing, bed making, linen changes, tidying, and general upkeep.
  • Organising wardrobes, cupboards and pantry to maintain a neat and tidy environment
  • Daily meal preparation for the family.
  • Run household errands such as grocery shopping, post office, dry cleaning and vet appointments.
  • Provide occasional school pick-ups and drop-offs for three children (aged 13yr old twins, and 16).
  • Daily pet care
  • Household administration, including scheduling car servicing, appliance maintenance, pet care, and organising appointments.
  • Create and maintain a house manual to ensure smooth household operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • A trustworthy, kind, and caring nature with a proactive approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience with household administration is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and valid Police Check required.
  • Excellent contactable references
  • Candidates must have full working rights in Australia

Job Conditions:

  • 30-40 hours per week, live out position
  • Ideally 8am – 4pm however start and finish times are open to discussion.
  • Competitive salary offered based on experience.
  • ABN number required.
  • Contribution to travel costs provided
